Bridging HMT Tokens Between Ethereum and Polygon

At HUMAN, we use the Polygon Bridge to facilitate seamless transfers of HMT tokens between the Ethereum and Polygon networks. This ensures low-cost, fast, and secure transactions for our users.

What is the Polygon Bridge?

The Polygon Bridge is a trustless cross-chain transaction channel that allows users to transfer assets (e.g., ERC-20 tokens like HMT) between Ethereum and Polygon. It leverages smart contracts to ensure security and transparency, making it an ideal solution for bridging assets between the two networks.

How the Bridging Process Works

  1. Deposit HMT Tokens to the Bridge:

    • Users deposit their HMT tokens on the Ethereum network through the Polygon Bridge interface.

    • The bridge locks the HMT tokens in a smart contract and mints the equivalent amount on the Polygon network.

  2. Use HMT Tokens on Polygon:

    • Once HMT tokens are bridged, they can be used on Polygon for transactions, trading, or interacting with dApps.

  3. Withdraw HMT Tokens Back to Ethereum:

    • When users want to move HMT tokens back to Ethereum, the process involves burning the tokens on Polygon and unlocking the equivalent amount on Ethereum.

Steps to Bridge Tokens

  1. Go to the official .

  2. Connect your wallet (e.g., MetaMask) to the Ethereum network.

  3. Select Ethereum as origin network and HMT as the token you want to bridge. You can find token addresses .

  4. Choose Polygon as destination network. To bridge in the other direction just swap the networks.

  5. Approve the transaction and confirm the bridging process.

  6. Once completed, switch your wallet to the Polygon network to access your HMT tokens.

Important Considerations

  • Gas Fees: Bridging transactions require gas fees on Ethereum, which may vary based on network congestion.

  • Bridging Time: Deposits to Polygon are usually quick, but withdrawals back to Ethereum may take longer (typically 45 minutes to several hours).

  • Double-Check Addresses: Ensure the wallet addresses are correct to avoid loss of funds.
